Review of Old Chang Kee Covent Garden London.
Love doing food reviews especially when the food is bloody awesome cheap and most definitely cheerful. The Old Chang Kee in Covent Garden is a small inconspicuous Malaysian restaurant providing tasty food from the cultural heritage of Singapore.
For those of you who have never had the pleasure of visiting Singapore let alone the various other states that make up Malaysia then you will be unfamiliar with their fusion of hot spicy foods infused with a concoction of spices and herbs that leaves a kick of unbelievable taste in your mouth. Me and bland food do not mix, there is no need for bland food, but you are guaranteed to leave this little treasure with a smile on your face for the rest of your day.
The menu is small which is great, they have an array of pastry puffs, curries, Singapore specials, and fish and chicken skewers. So I had the pleasure of sampling the signature Singapore chicken curry, the chicken was tender moist and well seasoned, followed buy the tuna black pepper puff , chicken and fish skewer, whilst my cousin had the Singapore laksa, chicken curry potato puff with egg all washed down with a bottle of aloe vera juice.
We could not stop talking about this place all day, so much so we rate it a 4.5 out of 5 for food and affordability , 4 out of 5 for cleanliness and ambiance.
Next time you're in Covent Garden visit Old Chang Kee, 15 New Row, London, WC2N 4LD or follow them on @oldchangkeeuk.
